Laying of the 1st stone in Chablis
9 September 2021
After Beaune and Mâcon, it's Chablis' turn to lay its first stone. An unusual ceremony to launch the beginning of the work.
On September 9, a ceremony was held to mark the beginning of the construction of the Cité des vins et des Climats de Bourgogne, with the presence of all the partner communities and representatives of the wine industry.
It was a very original first stone that the participants are not ready to forget: 6 concrete mixers, 6 shovels, 6 wheelbarrows, 6 soils from the vineyards of northern Burgundy and 6 pairs, composed of a political representative and a winegrower, to make the castings. "Totems" of the six vineyards of northern Burgundy, these earthen concrete castings, a tribute to the materials used for the realization of the new extension of the Cité, will then be exhibited in the garden of the Petit Pontigny.
